Neenah girls, Brillion boys remain atop Post-Crescent high school basketball rankings
Here is the latest edition of the Post-Crescent boys and girls high school basketball rankings. Rankings are "pound-for-pound" based on success and enrollment/division.
GIRLS
1, Neenah (21-1): Rockets hold a half-game lead over Hortonville in Fox Valley Association title chase. Next: Friday vs. Hortonville.
2, Hortonville (19-2): Polar Bears play well but can't finish in 74-66 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday in a battle of highly-ranked teams. Next: Friday at Neenah.
3, Freedom (20-1): Irish clinch at least a share of the North Eastern Conference title with 48-44 victory over Fox Valley Lutheran on Tuesday. Next: vs. Marinette.
4, St. Mary Catholic (20-1): Zephyrs have clinched the Big East-North title and are on 15-game win streak since loss to Oostburg on Dec. 6. Next: Thursday vs. Manitowoc Lutheran.
5, Fox Valley Lutheran (18-3): Foxes are two games behind league-leader Freedom in North Eastern Conference after losing to Irish 48-44. Next: Friday at Little Chute.
Others: New London (17-2), Kaukauna (16-6), Brillion (17-4), Wrightstown (14-7), Menasha (12-7), Kimberly (11-11), Chilton (12-8).

BOYS
1, Brillion (19-0): Lions lone undefeated team in Post-Crescent coverage area and are led in scoring by Jeremy Lorenz (21.8), Caeden Holly (10.9) and Grady Geiger (10.7). Next: Thursday vs. Chilton.
2, St. Mary Catholic (18-2): Zephyrs two games behind Big East-North leader Howards Grove and take on Tigers in key league game this week. Next: Friday vs. Howards Grove.
3, Little Chute (19-1): Mustangs have won six straight since last defeat and are coming off a 49-38 victory over Roncalli on Tuesday. Next: Thursday at Waupaca.
4, Xavier (18-2): Hawks get big win over West De Pere last week and lead Phantoms by a game in Bay Conference title chase. Next: Friday vs. New London.
5, Fox Valley Lutheran (16-3): Foxes are a game behind Little Chute in North Eastern Conference standings and are playing three games in six days. Next: Thursday at Denmark.
