Neighbours could air flashback episodes if filming stops over coronavirus
Neighbours is preparing flashback episodes which could air if filming stops amid the coronavirus pandemic.
This week, Takaya Honda – who plays David Tanaka – launched a YouTube series called 'Tak Talks', to fill the gap for fans.
The star was joined by April Rose Pengilly and Sharon Johal on the first episode, as he shared that the executive producer has written a number of episodes containing a small amount of new content followed by a series of flashbacks.
"We worked really hard last week," Takaya said. "I calculated we shot, or finished, 40 to 50 episodes in the week.
"Our EP wrote 35 individual episodes of what will become kind of a flashback series if we can't keep shooting and we need to put something on air.
"So very cleverly, the show put together a whole bunch of – each episode is about two, three, four minutes of new content, and the rest of the episode [is] made up with flashbacks that I think a lot of people will enjoy watching. Because it's always fun to go back and look at those things."

Channel 5 has already taken the decision to cut the number of weekly episodes to two (Mondays and Fridays), but the schedule in Australia remains unchanged.
Colette Mann recently tweeted in support of Channel 5's decision, but April suggested that the channel "jumped the gun" given that the soap was still on schedule and filming hasn't been suspended.
The show is currently on a planned break, but production is expected to resume after the Easter weekend.
Neighbours currently airs on Mondays and Fridays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 in the UK.
