Neighbours legend Ian Smith has given fans another hint of what's to come, as the newly revived soap begins production.

In a video posted to the official Neighbours twitter account, Smith revealed that the new show would be "a bit cheeky."

"I was dying to see how they'd bring us all back, now I know and you don't," he teased in the clip.

"No, that's not very nice is it," the actor continued, going on to explain that it was "incredible" how the soap was planning to bring everybody back.

"I love it. It's a bit cheeky, but if you can't be a bit cheeky what's the point of getting up in the morning."

Smith went on to say that the majority of fan favourites will be returning to Erinsborough and that he hoped fans would share their thoughts about the new episodes.

"I know you'll let us know whether you agree or not. Please do, don't hold back," the actor added, before joking that he wasn't interested in hearing negative comments.

"If you disagree, go away," he joked. "I don't want to know you."
