We're sure that working on a soap is a whole lot of fun, but as any full-time cast member will tell you, it doesn't allow you to have much of a life outside of work.

Neighbours actor Tim Robards will return and become a regular full-time cast member tomorrow (May 21) in the UK, and he's had to make some pretty big sacrifices.

The star told Australia's Women's Day magazine that he's left his wife Anna Heinrich behind in Sydney to move to Melbourne for the show, and that has delayed their plans to have a baby together.

"Next year would be a good time to make that happen," he said. "I am pretty much down here [in Melbourne] for the rest of the year, so that isn't going to be very conducive to a child.

"It's kind of hard. We possibly could [settle in Melbourne] down the track, but we just bought a house in Sydney, and we've set our lives up there. Every now and then I'll get an extra day off, so I make it work."
