Neighbours stars Takaya Honda and Matt Wilson feared that a recent steamy scene involving a couple of cocktails and the pair being interrupted by Jane Harris would be censored.

The pair, who play lovebirds David and Aaron, had a moment of semi-nude passion bulldozed by Jane in an episode that aired January 15 – and speaking to Inside Soap, Honda shared his fears of censorship after the scene was filmed.

"There were a couple of things we weren't sure would make it past the censorship!" Honda revealed.

Continuing, Honda shared which moments he thought would end up on the cutting room floor.

"One was when David had the glass in his underpants and Aaron was pouring into it because that was maybe a bit too much!" he joked.

"And the other was the photo frame. That was made up on the spot!"

Honda then added that Annie Jones (who plays Jane) was the "ideal" person to interrupt the pair.

"She's brilliant," Honda explained. "We were both very naked at that time, so our reactions were genuine!"

The pair both recently returned to the soap after the 2022 finale episode, and explained why to Digital Spy last year.

"Ultimately, I think for both of us the story that Jason Herbison, our executive producer, pitched to us was something that was really intriguing to get us back onto the show and kick it off and the larger story that was happening on the show itself," they said.

"We could tell that there was something different happening on the show, so we wanted to be a part of that really."

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
