ALLEGAN — A Grammy Award-winning rapper is the third announced concert headliner for the 2023 Allegan County Fair.

Nelly will perform at the Allegan County Fair on Saturday, Sept. 9, according to an announcement. Trea Landon will open the concert, which begins at 7 p.m.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 19. Tickets can be purchased online at allegancountyfair.com or etix.com, by calling 888-673-6501 or at the fair office.
Fair admission is included if tickets are purchased by Aug. 15. Parking is not included.
Nelly began his music career in 1993 as a member of the hip-hop group St. Lunatics, according to his biography. He signed to Universal Records in 1999. His 2000 album, “Country Grammar,” spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and spawned the hits “Ride Wit Me,” “Country Grammar” and “E.I.”
Nelly won two Grammy Awards after the release of his 2002 album, “Nellyville.” The song “Hot in Here” won the Grammy Award for Best Male Rap Solo Performance, and “Dilemma [feat. Kelly Rowland]” won for Best Rap Song Collaboration. Nelly’s collaboration with Florida Georgia Line on the song “Cruise (Remix)” received Diamond status. Nelly is one of just seven rappers to earn this achievement.
Landon was born in Daisy, Georgia, and is signed to Warner Music Nashville — according to his biography. He landed a publishing deal within four weeks of arriving in Nashville in 2015. He released his major label debut in 2017 and has since released an EP and an acclaimed series of classic covers. Landon has toured with Luke Combs, Cole Swindell and Riley Green.

This marks the third announced concert for this year’s Allegan County Fair. Country star Jake Owen will perform on Friday, Sept. 8, with opener Jameson Rodgers. Another country star, Riley Green, will perform on Friday, Sept. 15, with opener Drake Milligan.
