Neosho man charged with illegal possession of firearms and child sex crime
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. — A Neosho man convicted of domestic assault is now charged with illegal possession of firearms and a child sex crime.
Police arrested Joseph Taylor, 40, last week after a woman reported seeing him have inappropriate sexual contact with a ten-year-old child.
Court records say the woman caught Taylor in the act and made him leave the house.
The woman told police that when Taylor left he was carrying a shotgun and two handguns.

Taylor was on probation for a domestic assault conviction from 2022 and is prohibited from owning firearms.
He was arraigned in court today and is being held without bond.
Authorities have also filed a motion to revoke Taylor’s probation and send him to prison for the original five years he was given on the domestic violence case.
