Matthew McConaughey voicing Elvis in new Netflix animated show ‘Agent Elvis’

Matthew McConaughey is stepping into a pair of “Blue Suede Shoes” for his next acting project.

The Texan is voicing Elvis Presley in the animated action series — “Agent Elvis” — premiering Friday on Netflix. The series comes from John Eddie and Priscilla Presley, who is also voicing herself in the show.

Netflix describes the show as: “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jet pack when he is covertly inducted into a secret government spy program to battle the dark forces that threaten the country he loves — all while holding down his day job as the King Of Rock And Roll.”

Rounding out the show’s voice cast are Don Cheadle, Johnny Knoxville, Kaitlin Olsen, Niecy Nash and Tom Kenny as Elvis’ monkey named Scatter. Other guest stars voicing roles include Ed Helms, Fred Amisen and Simon Pegg.

If the trailer is any indication, Elvis fans are in for a new action-packed take on the King of Rock and Roll. Fans will have to wait until Friday to see if McConaughey can squeeze in his “Alright, Alright, Alright” catchphrase in the Elvis voice.

McConaughey is staying busy, having already chosen his next project which will reunite him with his “True Detective” co-star Woody Harrelson.

The duo are set to play fictionalized versions of themselves in a show that focuses on both McConaughey and Harrelson’s families coming together to live under the same Texas ranch. The untitled show comes from Apple TV+ and does not currently have a release date.
