Four popular Netflix shows are set to get their final seasons this year, the streaming giant has announced, showcasing the year ahead in content.

"The Umbrella Academy" (season 4), "Cobra Kai" (season 6), "Elite" (season 8) and "Sweet Tooth" (season 3) are to conclude their storylines later this year, the company announced on Thursday in a preview of upcoming releases in 2024.

At the same time, the long-awaited second - but not necessarily final - season of the South Korean series "Squid Game" is also set to drop later this year.

The first season, released in 2021, in which contestants play children's games in a fight for their lives, became Netflix's most popular title worldwide. Netflix shared a teaser clip of a few seconds from the second season, along with other content coming in 2024, but has not confirmed an exact start date.

While political thriller "The Diplomat" and sci-fi fantasy "Rebel Moon" are getting second seasons, Netflix is also promising plenty of new content, such as the long-awaited sci-fi show "3 Body Problem".

The streaming giant meanwhile gave a first glimpse at the film "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F", which sees Eddie Murphy return to one of his most famous roles after a 30-year hiatus.

Netflix is also bringing back Cameron Diaz, after a decade-long break from acting, in the role of an ex-agent in the upcoming comedy "Back In Action".

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld's film "Unfrosted" about the origins of the Pop-Tart breakfast snack will be added to the platform in May, while the third season of "Bridgerton" is set to be released in two parts in May and June.

In Colombia, the novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Nobel Prize winner Gabriel García Márquez has been adapted into a film for Netflix. The platform says it also has high hopes for the Argentinian series "El Eternauta", in which a deadly snowstorm hits the planet.
