It’s official: Sex Education is coming to an end. Today, Netflix announced that the upcoming fourth season of the hit comedy series will be its last. But judging by the trailer, it’s going out with a bang — well, banging anyways.

In a letter to fans, creator, lead writer, and executive producer Laurie Nunn said: “We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast, and crew who put so much heart into making every episode. They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can’t wait to share it with you.”

This season sees Otis and Eric facing new challenges at a new school, following the closure of Moordale Secondary. Otis is naturally nervous about what going to Cavendish Sixth Form College will mean for the future of his sex therapy clinic, while Eric is just worried that they are going to end up losers again in this new social environment. Thankfully, this new school is way more progressive than Moordale. Students here enjoy daily yoga in the communal garden, are all about sustainability, and kindness is the new popularity.

As for the rest of the crew, “Viv is totally thrown by the college’s student-led, non-competitive approach, while Jackson is still struggling to get over Cal. Aimee tries something new by taking an Art A-Level and Adam grapples with whether mainstream education is for him. Over in the US, Maeve is living her dream at the prestigious Wallace University, being taught by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis is pining after her, whilst adjusting to not being an only child at home, or the only therapist on campus,” reads the official logline.

Returning for one last hilarious romp are stars Asa Butterfield as Otis, alongside Gillian Anderson as his mother Jean Milburn, Ncuti Gatwa as his gay bestie Eric Effiong, and Emma Mackey as Maeve Wiley. Also back are Aimee-Lou Wood, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Mimi Keene, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Dua Saleh, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Jim Howick, Rakhee Thakrar, and Daniel Ings.

It’s not just familiar faces fans have to look forward to, but a bevy of new stars who are set to enter into the halls of Cavendish Sixth Form College. Joining them for the final season will be Emmy award-winning actor and Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, Thaddea Graham (Doctor Who), Lisa McGrillis (Somewhere Boy), Marie Reuther (Kamikaze), actress and model Jodie Turner Smith, comedian Eshaan Akbar and newcomers Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, Reda Elazouar, Bella Maclean, and Imani Yahshua.
