Netflix lockdown ends without injuries, no gun found on suspect
A lockdown at Netflix's Los Angeles building ended Thursday afternoon without injuries after police detained a suspect, authorities said.
An unknown number of callers reported the suspect had a gun, Los Angeles Police Department public information officer Tony Im said. Police responded to the scene at about 3:53 p.m.
The suspect had not been on the property, Im said, and was taken into custody off-site. He did not have a gun, Im said.
Nobody was injured at Netflix or a neighboring broadcast station's studios, Im said. The broadcast station next door reported the suspect was a former Netflix employee who called a current employee, but Im said police have not verified his employment history.
The investigation is ongoing.
Netflix’s LA campus is on lockdown for a possible shooter. Helicopters overhead, police everywhere here. Roads closed. Employees were evacuated from one building to another. Just overheard one co-worker calling his grandma to allay her fears. Another scary day in America.
