Netflix has already saved Lucifer from eternal televisual damnation once, but rumour has it the streaming giant might be about to do so all over again. Hail Satan, we guess.

With the series' upcoming fifth (and apparently final) season scheduled for release at some point this year, it seems Lucifer has found itself on the side of the Gods once more, following its initial revival back in 2018.

According to a new report from TVLine, Netflix is believed to be in talks with Warner Bros Television to extend the soapy supernatural drama for another season, although there's no official word yet.

We suppose it would be fitting for a show all about the devil to end on its sixth season.

Before we get too ahead of ourselves though, there's season five to get through, which star Tom Ellis recently revealed will be "split into two halves".

Speaking last year, Tom explained: "Netflix is going to drop eight episodes, then there's going to be a little break, then another eight episodes."

And they won't be your average episodes either, with the show confirming last month that not only will one episode feature two songs and a seductive 1940s noir vibe, but there'll be an entire musical event, too.

Episode 10, titled 'Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam', will be Lucifer's unexpected "super fun" sing-song event, with "multiple numbers" planned.

Teasing the method behind the madness, showrunner Ildy Modrovich said: "We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they're singing and dancing, and not just, 'Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance'."

Lucifer is available to watch on Netflix, with season 5 expected to launch later this year.
