As we get closer to the winter holidays, it's a favourite time to rewatch our favourite TV shows and movies, or find a new series or film to dive into.
For Netflix subscribers in Canada, there are a few Christmas movies that you'll have to watch soon, before they're removed from the streaming site before the holiday. But a great list of new films and shows land on Netflix in December, including Bradley Cooper's Maestro, and Leave The World Behind with Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali and Myha'la Herrold.

The Christmas movies 12 Gifts of Christmas, A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish, Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas, You Are My Home, and Deck the Halls (starring Matthew Broderick, Danny DeVito, Kristin Chenoweth and Kristin Davis), will all be removed from Netflix before we reach the Christmas holiday.
Aside from A Madea Christmas, two other Tyler Perry films, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? will be removed from Netflix next month.
Fan favourite comedy Step Brothers, starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, will be leaving Netflix Canada on Dec. 1.
Two other comedies (both filmed in Toronto), starring 2000s pop culture icons, will be removed from Netflix on Dec. 1 as well.
Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert and Jonathan Bennett, will be leaving Netflix in Canada at the beginning of December, shortly before the new Mean Girls musical movie is released in theatres Jan. 12.
The 2006 romantic comedy The Perfect Man, starring Hilary Duff, Heather Locklear and Ben Feldman, will also be removed from Netflix at the start next month.
The 1997 mob film Donnie Brasco, with Al Pacino and Johnny Depp, will be removed from Netflix Dec. 1 as well.
F. Gary Gray's The Italian Job, starring Donald Sutherland, Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Seth Green and Jason Statham, will be leaving Netflix in December, so will another Statham movie, Blitz.
Award-winning films The Queen and Django Unchained will both be removed from Netflix on Dec. 5. Helen Mirren won an Oscar for portraying Queen Elizabeth II in The Queen and Christoph Waltz won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing Dr. King Schultz in Django Unchained.
For new movies to watch on Netflix in December, the highly anticipated film May December, starring Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore and Charles Melton, will be on the site Dec. 1.
Portman plays an actress who's set to take on the role of a woman named Gracie Atherton-Yoo (Moore). Gracie became a tabloid sensation when she went to jail for having a sexual relationship a 13-year-old boy, who is now her 36-year-old husband Joe (Melton). Portman's character Elizabeth arrives in the couple's small suburban community to study the family.
With Barack and Michelle Obama among the film's executive producers, with an impressive cast that includes Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, Mahershala Ali and Myha'la Herrold, Sam Esmail's Leave The World Behind is an obvious must-see film.
Landing on Netflix Dec. 8, the movie is a gripping thriller that sees two families try to survive an apocalyptic disaster, based on the novel by Rumaan Alam.
Oscar-nominated director Sam Fell is brining back our favourite Chicken Run characters with Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
Being released on Netflix Dec. 15, Dawn of the Nugget has the same signature feel of the original movie, while continuing the story after the escape from Tweedy’s farm. Ginger and Rocky, voiced by Thandiwe Newton and Zachary Levi, have a daughter, Molly (voiced by Bella Ramsey), and while things start off seeming quite peaceful, the chickens are back to facing a new threat.
Bradley Cooper transforms into composer Leonard Bernstein for Maestro, set to be released on Netflix Dec. 20.
The film, also directed and co-written by Cooper, focuses on Bernstein's relationship with his wife, actress Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein, played by Carey Mulligan.
