If you've already watch Firefly Lane, you probably have one question on your mind: Will there be a second season?!

Over the course of ten episodes, the time-hopping Netflix drama made us laugh, cry, and then cry some more. (Look out, Virgin River. You've got some competition!) Still, season 1 of Firefly Lane didn't even come close to addressing all of the drama that unfolded in the book it was based on. Thirty years of friendship between Tully and Kate is a lot to cover, after all. So, that means there has to be more coming—right?

Right! Firefly Lane season 2 is officially happening and fans are so, so excited. Read on for everything we know so far!

Netflix officially confirmed that Firefly Lane will be back on the streaming service with a second season sometime in 2022. Is anyone surprised?! The final episode of season 1 ended with more than one major cliffhanger (we are not over it!) and fans need to know what comes next for the Firefly Lane girls.

Plus, the flashback portions of the series haven't even caught up to present-day yet. There are still so many questions about the past: What happened after Cloud was arrested? How did Kate and Johnny end up married? When did Tully become famous? Give us answers!

According to Deadline, Netflix has announced four major cast additions for the upcoming season of Firefly Lane. Ignacio Serricchio, best known for his role in Lost In Space, will join as a series regular. He'll play Danny Diaz, a handsome, confident, and ambitious reporter who has a soft spot Tully. Grey's Anatomy star Greg Germann will hold a recurring role as Benedict Binswanger, the heir of successful logging family who tries his hand at politics in Washington state.

India de Beaufort of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist will also appear in a recurring role as Charlotte, a shy aspiring journalist (with a big crush on Johnny!) who turns out to be a force to be reckoned with. The White Lotus actress Jolene Purdy will play Justine Jordan, a friendly but cutthroat talent agent who Tully will come to lean on when things go south.

The first season of Firefly Lane left so many of the original character's storylines up in the air, from Tully's big career change to Kate and Johnny's complicated divorce. Plus, Cloud is back in the picture and it seems like Sean's new life is just beginning. So it's likely that most of the main cast will return for season 2, including:

  • Katherine Heigl as Tully Hart

  • Sarah Chalke as Kate Mularkey

  • Alissa Skovby as young Tully Hart

  • Roan Curtis as young Kate Mularkey

  • Ben Lawson as Johnny Ryan

  • Jon-Michael Ecker as Max Brody

  • Beau Garrett as Cloud

  • Yael Yurman as Marah

  • Brandon Jay McLaren as Travis

  • Chelah Horsdal as Margie Mularkey

  • Jason McKinnon as Sean Mularkey

Are there any "Firefly Lane" season 2 spoilers?

There's a whole book filled with 'em! (Psst, here's exactly how the Firefly Lane book ends.) But if you haven't read Kristin Hannah's bestseller yet, we don't want to spoil what might be coming. The first season of Firefly Lane seemed to cover about half of the novel's events, so it's likely that season 2 will wrap up the rest.

Still, not all of the storylines in the show follow Kristin's original plot. Showrunner Maggie Friedman told Entertainment Weekly that's one of her favorite parts about the series: "One of the things I think that's been fun is that we have kept some big moments from the book and been very true to those, and then there are other things that we've done that are different." So even if you did read the novel, you might not know what's coming!

It's also possible that the second season of Firefly Lane could dip into the original book's sequel, Fly Away. However, there's still so much of Tully and Kate's lives left to explore from the first story—making it unlikely that producers would rush right into the follow-up.

Does that mean there could be a third season of Firefly Lane on the way? Nothing's official, but we're definitely keeping our fingers crossed!
