Netflix's The Sandman released bonus footage online by mistake

Potential good news for The Sandman fans because - by now - we're pretty sure you've binge-watched all 10 episodes of the new Netflix phenomenon. And like us, we're pretty sure you were hooked, but equally just as gutted when the credits of the last ep started rolling. However, it's recently been revealed that some unseen footage intended for the first season was accidentally leaked online, which begs the question, will there be another release further down the line? And will it be sooner than we think?

ICYMI, clips from an animated version of Neil Gaiman's (the man behind The Sandman comics) A Dream of a Thousand Cats story and a live-action scene of Calliope were shown on the latest instalment of I Like to Watch, the Netflix YouTube series hosted by drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The show follows a Gogglebox-like structure, where the hosts view and react to different original TV series and movies produced by the streaming service.

While the episode has now been made private (probably thanks to the blip), the duo were seen joking about the cast of Cats making a potential appearance during the animated clip. And when reacting to Calliope, they made comparisons between the title character and Drag Race season 13's Kandy Muse. They also credited The Sandman as being "probably the best-looking thing we've watched" across the entire I Like to Watch series.

Naturally, fans took to social media to share their confusion as to why the episode was removed and to air their speculation that Netflix just accidentally leaked two bonus episodes.

"Did Netflix just show the season 2 teaser of The Sandman in I Like to Watch I don't remember Calliope and Thousand Cats in season 1," one fan said, as another wrote: "It's the new episode of I Like to Watch, reviewing The Sandman, that was released today and then deleted because it contained two unreleased episodes."

Um, here's hoping they're right because we could really do with some new The Dreaming content right about now.
