We love Netflix's The Toys That Made Us more than we care to admit, and we can't wait for the third season to debut on the streaming service in the near future.

The upcoming run of episodes will focus on wrestlers, Power Rangers (we're sensing a tight spandex theme here), My Little Pony and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which all sounds great.

But we at Digital Spy want to look beyond that, which is why we got creator Brian Volk-Weiss to tell us what we can expect from season 4 if and when it gets a recommission.

"We would definitely do Hot Wheels," he said. "We would definitely do Superfriends — not Superfriends. What’s it called? Shit. Not Superfriends.

"What’s it called? The whole Marvel… Batman… the whole Marvel/DC… I’m literally just having a brain fart. But we would do superheroes.

"There’s a huge history. It’s an amazing story that also includes MEGO. You’ve got to have as much of Marty Abrams in everything you do. So yeah."

Beyond that, he also teased Dungeons & Dragons which we are also very much behind, and said that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode is actually his favourite of season 3.

Netflix hasn't officially announced a fourth season at the time of writing, but Volk-Weiss says that Toys has "done really well" and that "Netflix was really happy", which is why the streaming service has greenlit The Movies That Made Us, which will debut later this year.

"Netflix gives us a nice budget to work with, which allows us to fly all over the world to where the story is, and spend a lot of time in post. These shows are made in post, really. And why not do that?

"If a billion people love Star Wars — maybe not a billion. But if half a billion people love Star Wars, I bet you two billion people love Die Hard, or two billion people love Dirty Dancing. So why not try to do the same thing that we did for toys with movies?"

The Toys That Made Us is available to stream on Netflix now.
