The Witcher might be based on the book series, but the Netflix adaptation will feature a nod to an iconic game scene.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other press at Comic-Con, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirmed that the first scene will have a bathtub – so get ready for a whole new set of memes, especially if it features Henry Cavill's Geralt.

"There is a bathtub this season. There is a bathtub. I won't tell you who's in the bathtub, but there is a bathtub," she teased.

Hissrich added that the bathtub won't be the only thing for fans to spot in the first season as she made sure the writers on the show added their own touches.

"One of the things I asked the writers when they showed up on the first day was, having read the books, what did they love the most. It could be the tiniest thing, it could be, something that Jaskier says over and over again or something huge," she said.

"For me, it was A Question of Price. I was like, 'I have to do A Question of Price'. I think that people who are big fans of the franchise will find a lot of really fun stuff."

And that also applies to hints to the future of the show as they couldn't fit everything they wanted to in the first season. "It's about letting these characters breathe and grow, so there's definitely things we didn't get to," Hissrich continued.

"Hopefully what we've tried to do is at least allude to them so that fans can go, 'Huh'. Any fan will notice that Istredd is cast in our season. Istredd is part of it, so everyone's like, 'Oh what's his role there' because he's only in one of the stories.

"I think it'll be exciting for people to see what he's doing and what he can do in the future."

The Witcher is coming to Netflix internationally later this year.
