Nets’ Cam Johnson says team ‘fell in sync’ in win over Rockets
NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson had one of his best games as a member of the team on Wednesday. In the team’s 123-114 win over the Houston Rockets, Johnson had 31 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, but even more than that, he looked completely comfortable out there on the floor.
“You know, I think we made shots,” Johnson said after the come-from-behind victory over the worst team record-wise in the Western Conference. “It gave us a little bit of steam, a little bit of momentum. I think early on, you know, we got so many good looks, but we just weren’t hitting them,” While Brooklyn never shot terribly at any point of the game, in the fourth quarter, the Nets shot 12-of-18 from the field, including 9-of-11 (81.8%) from three-point land.
That awesome shooting in the final period helped Brooklyn overcome a nine-point deficit with 8:55 left in the fourth quarter. The team looked lackluster through the first three quarters, but they turned it on in the end when they need it the most. Ironically, the Nets have not been that good in the clutch, but they were in this game. “And, you know, once we got that turned around, everybody kind of fell in sync and you know, we were flowing pretty well,” Johnson explained.
