Nets GM stands behind performance team despite Nets’ injury woes

After falling one win short of a Conference Finals appearance, the Brooklyn Nets are now focused on preparing for next season. Head coach Steve Nash told the media on Monday that the Nets’ early exit has been “really tough.”

Nets GM Sean Marks agreed with Nash on the season being a disappointment. “Without a doubt. We’re going to own it. We’re going to grow from it.”

When asked to evaluate the Nets’ performance team considering all of the injuries the squad dealt with throughout the year, Marks stood behind his staff.

“I don’t want to be too quick to judge — I could not be prouder of not only what the performance team did here but what all the staff did here and the sacrifices that they’ve made on the individual level just for us to have this opportunity…. I think it’s a big off-season for our players and the performance team. We know we got guys coming back and we got to get them healthy.”
