Nets’ Kevin Durant isn’t worried about being in the MVP conversation

It’s no secret that Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant has been having a great season up to this point. Durant has led Brooklyn to an 11-11 record while averaging 30 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game on 54.8% shooting from the field.
The former Texas longhorn has had some big scoring nights this season and the most recent one was the 45 points he dropped on the Orlando Magic on Monday. In all, Durant has scored at least 30 points in 11 of 22 games and had a triple-double on Nov.9 against the New York Knicks.
After Monday’s game, Durant was asked about if he was paying attention to his NBA MVP chants and this is what he said:
“Nah, not really. I mean, I’ve been there, done that to be honest. And, I know it’s going to take a lot for me to be in that conversation. So, I just want the respect from our fan base and I want them to have a good time when they come to the game. So, if that’s what strikes up chants is how I play from the fans as long as they’re having a good time. So, yeah, I’m not too worried about accolades at this point in my career”
The Brooklyn Nets next play against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
