Nevada Community Council of Performing Arts is marking a milestone

NEVADA, Mo. — The Nevada Community Council of Performing Arts is marking a major milestone today.

That’s because the group is celebrating 50 years of providing entertainment to Nevada residents and surrounding cities.

Through the years CCPA has offered thousands of theatre shows and musicals to the area at the Fox Playhouse Theatre – which has been the group’s home for 20 years.

CCPA Board of Directors President Kim Bessey says something is offered for everyone regardless of age.

“Everybody thrives on entertainment in a small community. People will easily drive 100 miles to go to a football game. We used to have a thriving movie house. We used to have a drive-in. We had a skating rink, and bowling alley, all of those things that, for various reasons, no longer exist. Now that what remains is the bowling alley and the Fox Playhouse,” said Kim Bessey, CCPA Board of Directors President.

If you’d to get involved with the CCPA or to catch an upcoming show – you can do so by going to their website.
