A 28-year-old Nevada woman has been reported missing in Stockton after visiting the city for a family gathering.

Leah Whitfield of Fernley, Nevada was reported missing on Sunday, May 21, according to Stockton Police Department spokesman David Scott.

Whitfield's family last saw her on Saturday night, her sister, Bri Whitfield, said.

Beginning around 5:30 or 6 p.m., Leah Whitfield was attending a memorial gathering at a home at 213 Norwich Drive in Stockton, her sister said. The home is located east of Pacific Avenue, behind Robinhood Plaza.

Throughout the evening, Whitfield went in and out of the house several times, her sister said. Around 9:50 p.m., Whitfield left the house once more and "never came back," Bri Whitfield said.

Whitfield was wearing a purple and white blouse with a floral pattern and jean shorts that night, her sister said.

She is 5 feet 3 inches tall, about 110 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair, according to the photo of her state ID card, provided by her sister.

Whitfield is diagnosed schizophrenia, her sister said, and may appear confused. Whitfield is unlikely to be confrontational or violent, she said.
