New Seletar Link flyover to provide alternative route for motorists from Punggol Town to major expressways
Opening on 22 January, flyover will also enhance connectivity for industrial developments on Pulau Punggol Timor
SINGAPORE — A new flyover will be opened at 2pm on 22 January to provide new connections between Seletar Link and Tampines Expressway.
The Land Transport Authority said in a media release on Monday (8 January) that the Seletar Link flyover will support the expected increase in traffic due to new developments in Punggol Town and Pulau Punggol Timor.
The flyover, which spans an approximate road length of 1.05 kilometres, will be an alternative route for motorists who are travelling from Punggol Town to Seletar Expressway (SLE) or Central Expressway (CTE). It will also enhance connectivity for industrial developments on Pulau Punggol Timor, serving as a more direct route for vehicles heading to SLE or CTE.
In addition, the flyover will provide a connection to developments in Sengkang Town when the new Sengkang West Drive is completed.
LTA said that informational and directional traffic signs will be put up to inform motorists ahead of the flyover's opening. Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and to follow traffic signs on site to help them get to their destinations.
LTA had recently announced expansions to the MRT network in 2024, with the North East Line extension (NELe), which connects Punggol MRT station to the new Punggol Coast MRT station, is on schedule for its opening this year.
