Newark warming center opens Friday

NEWARK -- The Licking County Emergency Warming Center Task Force announced the opening of a warming center Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 592 W. Main St., Newark, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 a.m.

Temperatures are forecast for a low of 11 degrees on Friday and 10 degrees on Saturday.

Licking Memorial Health Systems will provide food and free transportation to the warming center, with a van looping through the following locations from 5:30-8 p.m. and in the morning: Salvation Army, 250 East Main St.; Foundation Park, 30 N. 2nd St.; Don Edwards Park, 429 Ohio St.; Licking County Library, 101 W. Main St.; and Women’s Health Center, 15 Messimer Drive.
