A newborn was killed early on Wednesday, November 23, in a Russian strike on a hospital in the city of Vilnyansk, the governor of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and an official from President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office said.

Governor Oleksandr Starukh said Russian forces fired rockets at a “small maternity ward” at the city hospital on Wednesday morning, killing a newborn.

The child was a boy born two days earlier, said Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the Office of the President. The mother survived, he said.

Two other people, both doctors, were injured and one is in serious condition, Tymoshenko said. Credit: SES of Ukraine via Storyful
