Newburyport Bank donates $2,500 to the Portsmouth Historical Society

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — Newburyport Bank has donated $2,500 to the Portsmouth Historical Society, Portsmouth, N.H. The funds will be used to support the Society’s many historical programs, art exhibitions, educational activities, field trips and group visits, learning workshops, and more.

The Portsmouth Historical Society, founded in 1917, is a nonprofit devoted to championing the history, arts and culture of the Portsmouth region. It operates two facilities: Discover Portsmouth and the 1758 John Paul Jones House Museum and Garden, a national historic landmark.

“We must never take for granted the rich history that exists within our area,” stated Lloyd L. Hamm, President & CEO of the Bank. And by supporting the Portsmouth Historical Society, we will ensure that for future generations. By protecting and presenting our past, they play an important role in the future of our communities.”

BERWICK, Maine - The Fabulous Find, a boutique-style resale shop in Kittery, has chosen the Berwick Library Association as one of the non-profit organizations to benefit from store sales in April. Other organizations to benefit from April’s sales are the Lee Public Library Community Center Foundation and Friends Supporting Wells Public Library.

The Fabulous Find, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is a beautifully-merchandized boutique style resale shop which partners with different worthy, local non-profit organizations each month.

All store profits each month are donated to the organizations that are selected for that particular month.

The Fabulous Find opened in July, 2010, and, with tremendous support from the community, in 11 years has given out over $2.3 million to more than 150 local non-profits.

The Berwick Library Association, also a 501(c)3 non-profit, owns the Berwick Public Library building. The BLA maintains the building and supports the Berwick Public Library, a department of the Town of Berwick.

Library patrons and friends are encouraged to donate gently worn clothing, jewelry, home decor and other items to the Fabulous Find and to shop at the store.

Newburyport Bank donates $1,000 to the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. — Newburyport Bank has made a $1,000 donation to the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce as a Supporting Sponsor of its State of the City event. This event will take place on Thursday, April 6, at 8:30 a.m. at the Hellenic Center in Dover, N.H. Deputy City Manager Christopher G. Parker will provide an update on development projects happening in Dover, followed by a moderated panel discussion.

The Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization that provides value to its members, residents and visitors by facilitating and sustaining growth of businesses, organizations and events that promote a healthy, thriving community.

“Knowing the important role the Chamber plays within the community, the Bank was eager to help sponsor this event,” said Lloyd L. Hamm, President & CEO of the Bank. “The work they do has a profound influence on our communities, proving year after year that there is no more powerful force than the type of strong grassroots efforts made by the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce.”
