Newcomerstown news: Fire, police and Tri-County personnel join together for Christmas party

Members of the Village of Newcomerstown Fire Department, Police Department, Tri- County Joint Ambulance Service and their families all joined together for a Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 9. Fellowship was enjoyed between the three departments, and village government.

Awards were given to team members, and it was announced that Steve Carney, employed by Tri-County as well as being a volunteer fire fighter for the village, has passed his National Registry testing and is now a Paramedic. This was the first year for the joint event, and plans are to continue the tradition.

Newcomerstown Public Library – Sewing with Belinda

Sewing with Belinda starts on Saturday, Jan. 13. The class will be held at the Library Annex from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. with lunch from noon to 1 p.m. In 2024, sewing will NOT always be on the second Saturday! Newcomerstown Class of 1956 Outing on Jan. 11

The Newcomerstown Class of 1956 will meet and enjoy lunch at T.J.’s in Stonecreek on Thursday, Jan. 11 at noon. All 1956 classmates are invited to attend as well as other N.H.S. class members from the 1950s. For questions or more information, please call Mary Hunt at 740-502-7383.

Christ Methodist Church, Newcomerstown Small Group Study

Christ Methodist Church located at 648 Oak Street in Newcomerstown is starting a new Wednesday Evening Small Group Study. The first one will be held on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table by Pastor Louie Giglio will be studied by the group. It is based on the 23rd Psalm and will last for six weeks
