Newest Sphere resident announced

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Grateful Dead spin-off band Dead & Company, which features former Grateful Dead band members alongside guitarist and pop star John Mayer, will be the next act to enter the Sphere in 2024, the band announced Wednesday.

The band announced via a video post on X that it would be performing at Sphere in Las Vegas. Dead & Company will be the latest band to have performances at the newest addition to the Las Vegas skyline, following U2, whose Achtung Baby Live residency concludes in March, and Phish, who is set to play four shows in April.

“In 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour,” the video said. “But there are other ways to make sure the music never stops, and it’s going to be a ball.” The video included images of Sphere’s exosphere LED screen adorned with Dead & Company’s logo over a psychedelic background.

No dates were announced Wednesday by either Dead & Company or Sphere Entertainment Company; however, a report from Rolling Stone indicated that the band will play at least 15 shows at the venue.

Dead & Company consists of former Grateful Dead musicians Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann. Mayer provides vocals and guitar for the group.
