Newly landed: Island Wing Co. Grill & Bar brings baked wings concept to new Saint Johns restaurant

The second aviation and island-centric Island Wing Co. Grill & Bar has landed in its second Jacksonville-area location.

Known for baked, not fried chicken wings, craft beers, burgers and live music, Island Wing Co. opened Monday at 360 Bartram Market Drive off Race Track Road in Saint Johns.

The new location comes two years after the inaugural Northeast Florida restaurant opened at 4409 Southside Blvd. in the Tinseltown area.

Topping the menu are crispy, baked premium chicken wings with a variety of signature sauces ranging in heat from Scorpion (the hottest) to medium, mild and sweet (with little to no heat).

Appetizers include Baked and Battered Green Beans, Crispy Pickle Chips, Hawaiian BBQ Chicken Nachos, Ahi Poke Nachos, Spicy Smoked Yellowfin Tuna dip and Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Dip.

Among its flatbreads are Chicken Bacon Ranch, The Guinness featuring the restaurant's signature sweet and spicy Polynesian dip and thinly sliced Guinness brats, and the Margherita.

Featured entrees offered include the Island Chicken Grill, Caribbean Grilled Salmon, No Fry Stir Fry and Blackened Mahi Mahi.

A variety of salads, chicken, fish and vegan tacos, as well as a diverse selection of mac and cheese is available along with sandwiches, quesadillas and half-pound specialty burgers round out the menu.

Featured side dishes include Pineapple Coconut Rum Slaw and Reggae Rice. For dessert, there's White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, Key Lime Pie and Warm Brownie a la Mode.

Based in Destin, the chain has seven restaurants in Florida, including the Bartram Market Drive and Southside Boulevard locations. They are among 10 restaurants in three states: Florida, Alabama and Virginia.
