Newport News police identified the man killed in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month.
Police said they were called shortly after 7 a.m. on July 10 for a man lying in the grass in the 500 block of J Clyde Morris Boulevard.
When medics arrived, they pronounced 61-year-old Johnny Kehn, of Newport News, dead at the scene.
Police said it’s unclear when Kehn was hit. They said he was found near a bicycle, just off of the roadway.
No suspects have been identified, but last week police narrowed down the type of vehicle they believe may have been involved in the crash.
Investigators believe the vehicle could be a 2001–04 Buick Century or Regal; 2001–04 Pontiac Grand Prix; 2003–05 GMC Sierra or a 2003–05 Chevy Silverado.
Police said the vehicle is either black or dark gray and it may have damage to the front passenger side.
Anyone with information that will help the police investigation is asked to call the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP.
