Newport News police investigating potential unlawful filming at gyms, restaurant

Newport News police are investigating after people were possibly recorded without their consent at two fitness centers and a restaurant.

Police said the recordings were reported between August 2019 and April 2020 at the One Life Fitness Center on 651 Hogan Drive and in the unisex bathroom at One Life Fitness Center at 815 City Center. Police said the incidents may also have happened at Triple Effectz Ultra Lounge at 416 Denbigh Blvd, Suite 103.

The police department said it is an active investigation and did not specify whether it has any suspects.

Anyone who believes they may have been a victim is asked to call 757-928–4291. The department said to leave a message if no one answers.
