A Newport News teenager has been arrested and charged in the killing of a 15-year-old teenager in York County last Sunday.

Jordan Miller, 15, of James City County, was found with multiple gunshot wounds after deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Drew Road at about 10:41 p.m. on Dec. 13. That’s in the Carvers Gardens neighborhood, in Upper York County near Williamsburg.

Miller, a student in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, died at a hospital a short time later, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shelley Ward said.

Ward said York sheriff’s deputies arrested a 17-year-old Newport News teen on Saturday morning, charging him with second-degree murder and a gun charge in Miller’s death. Newport News Police assisted in the arrest.

The Newport News teen — whose name hasn’t been released — is being held at the Merrimac Juvenile Detention Center in Williamsburg.

The investigation is still ongoing, and deputies have asked that anyone who lives in the area who may have a home security video of the incident to contact the tip line at 757-890-4999 or the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
