AARP Tax-Aide to begin Feb. 1

AARP Tax- Aide Foundation volunteers will be available from Feb. 1 - April 15, at multiple sites in Flagler County for free tax preparation.

Locations:

  • Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell (Tuesdays and Wednesdays)

  • Flagler County Public Library, 2500 Palm Coast Parkway N.W. (Thursdays)

  • First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 6050 Palm Coast Parkway N.W. (Mondays and Fridays)

  • Palm Coast Aquatics Center/Frieda Zamba Pool, 339 Parkview Drive (Fridays and Saturdays)

  • Flagler Beach United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Daytona Ave. (Tuesdays)

Sites are on an "appointment only" basis. Starting Jan. 20, call 386-313-4048, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, or go online to aarp.org/money/taxes/aarp_taxaide/locations

Turtle 16 to be introduced in Beach Haven

Turtle 16, “Louis,” will be unveiled at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Beach Haven Community, 25 Beach Haven Parkway, Palm Coast, by the Palm Coast Arts Foundation. The turtle, in honor of music icon Louis Armstrong, was painted by artist Bob Teller and sponsored by the residents of the Beach Haven Community. The event will include a special musical tribute performed by Smooth Jazz musician Bartee.
