Beat the Heat event to protect pets, kids set for June 16

FREMONT — The Sandusky County Dog Warden's Office, Humane Society of Sandusky County and Sandusky County Children's Services have joined to raise public awareness of the dangers of leaving children and pets in unattended parked cars.

The 4th Annual Beat the Heat will be held at 1 p.m. June 16 at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds Parking Lot. The Public is invited to come out and support the event and raise public awareness of the dangers.

Arts and Crafts Festival is Saturday

PORT CLINTON — The Arts and Crafts Festival  will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Waterworks Park. Sponsored by the Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council, the event includes crafts, jewelries, fine art, ceramncs, glassworks and woodworks. For more information visit ottawacountyarts.org.

Elmore Historical Society to hold monthly meetings

Budget commission to meet

PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Budget Commission  will meet at 10 a.m. June 16  in the Prosecutor’s office on the second floor of the Ottawa County Courthouse.

Humane Society to hold a dog wash

PORT CLINTON — The Humane Society of Ottawa County is holding a dog wash from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday n at Dubbert's Professional Outdrive Services, 2344 E. Harbor Road. Cost is $10 per dog or $15 for two dogs. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Ottawa County.

The next dog wash will be July 23 at Dubbert's. For more information call the shelter at 419-734-5191.

Arts council, symphony plan evening out

PORT CLINTON — The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council with the Firelands Symphony Orchestra will present "An Evening Out with ART" feature the Cleveland Trombone Collective. The evening starts at 6 p.m. June 13 on stage at Meals on Madison.

The concert will include popular tunes along with classical pieces. The concert is free and open to the public with funding from the Ottawa County Community Foundation, Erie County Community Foundation and the Ohio Arts Council.

Flea market at fairgrounds

FREMONT - The monthly flea market will be Saturday and Sunday June 11 and 12 at the Sandusky County Fair Grounds. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
