Clyde Light and Power honored for safety record

COLUMBUS — The City of Clyde was honored for achievements throughout the past year during the 2022 American Municipal Power (AMP) Annual Conference.

Clyde Light and Power received an AMP Safety Award — Transmission and Distribution in recognition of no time lost due to reportable accidents or injuries.

Clyde Light and Power also received a Mutual Aid Commendation in recognition of providing mutual aid assistance to the City of Shelby and the Village of Oak Harbor.

Additionally, the City of Clyde was re-elected to represent the Northern AMP Service Group on the AMP Board of Trustees for a three-year term. Justin LaBenne, Clyde city manager, represents Clyde on the AMP Board.

Arts council adds floral arrangement class

PORT CLINTON — The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is excited to announce a special floral arrangement class with one of the Port Clinton area’s mainstays — Mary from Mary’s Blossom Shoppe — coming to The Arts Garage in November.

Join the class at 6p.m. Nov. 8 at 6pm at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry S., to create a beautiful arrangement with Mary Snyder. Mary’s Blossom Shoppe is located in downtown Port Clinton.

Tickets are $55 per person and can be purchased at www.gpcaac.org under the “Classes” tab. Limited spaces are available.

Trinity UMC to hold chicken and biscuits lunch

FREMONT — Trinity United Methodist Church, 204 N. Wayne St., will host a Chicken and Biscuits Lunch at 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 6. This is open to the public and no reservations are needed.

The meal will include homemade chicken and biscuits, roasted vegetables, salad, dessert and beverage for those eating in. Cost is $10 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under. Eat-in at the Fellowship Hall or picked-up to take out.

The church also is offering their annual cheeseball sale for the upcoming holidays. Orders are being taken for Cheddar, Dried Beef, Horseradish, Onion and new for Thanksgiving, a Cranberry/Orange with walnuts at a cost of $8 each.

The deadline for ordering is Nov. 6 with pick-up and payment from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 19 in the church Fellowship Hall.

In December the choices will be the same except the cranberry/orange will be replaced with pineapple. Orders for December will be taken from Nov. 19 through Dec. 4 with pick-up and payment from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 17. To place an order, call 419-332-8167 or 419-680-5758.
