Clyde Masons to hold hog roast

CLYDE - The Clyde Masons Monticello Lodge 244 will hold its annual hog roast from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 1 at 136 Hamer St. Adult dinners are $12 and tickets are available from Masonic Lodge members and on the day of the event. This is curbside pickup only.

Brad Upton to appear at Lakeside

LAKESIDE – Comedian Brad Upton is proving it’s never too late to be a standup star. Upton will bring his hilarious show to Lakeside, Ohio’s Hoover Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7

Purchase tickets for $20 per person at lakesideohio.com or on the day of the show from 5-8 p.m. at the Hoover Auditorium Ticket Office. Gate and parking fees to enter Lakeside are not required for this fall weekend of programming. However, all ages must purchase a show ticket.

Sept. 28 is deadline for cooling assistance

FREMONT - Those needing help through the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Summer Crisis Program have until Sept. 28 to apply for assistance.

The program is available for eligible households in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County and offers cooling relief for households with a member age 60 or over, or households that have a member with a documented medical condition that requires air conditioning. Households must be at or below 175% of federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $48,563/household of four) to qualify.

To receive assistance, appointments must be scheduled by calling GLCAP’s scheduling hotline at 567-432-5046 or by visiting glcap.org/summercooling.

Bellevue Hospital plans Health Fair

BELLEVUE - The Bellevue Hospital (TBH) will present a “Fall Into Wellness” Health Fair on Sept. 30 at the hospital’s 1400 W. Main St. location.

The fair will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. and will offer a wide range of health screenings, informational displays, refreshments and door prizes. Participants should park and enter the hospital through the South Main Entrance facing U.S. 20.

Health screenings available at the fair will include: Free blood pressure and glucose checks; free balance screenings; free varicose vein screenings; colon cancer take-home screening collection kits; and mammography screenings.

Participants wanting a screening mammogram will need to schedule a time for the day of the event and call 419-484-5960 prior to Sept. 30 to preregister.

Hops and Vine Festival planned at Put-in-Bay

PUT-IN-BAY - The Put-in-Bay Tourism Bureau announced the Island Hops and Vine Festival will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30.

The newly revamped wine festival will now be called Island Hops & Vine Festival to include both beer and wine tastings and by the glass. The event will be held downtown in DeRivera Park. Autumn themed comfort foods and retail gifts for sale under the tent with entertainment for your enjoyment. For more information on entry fees and pricing go to visitputinbay.com.
