Board of elections closes for Juneteenth
OAK HARBOR - The Ottawa County Board of Elections office will be closed on Monday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth Day. Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday.
Dog Wash to benefit humane society
PORT CLINTON - The Humane Society of Ottawa County is having its first dog wash of this summer from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 17, at Dubbert's Professional Outdrive Services, 2344 East Harbor Road.
Cost is $15 per dog or $25 for two dogs. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Ottawa County. For more information, contact the shelter at 419-734-5191.
Regional airport authority to meet Thursday
CLYDE - The monthly meeting of the Sandusky County Regional Airport Authority will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Sandusky County Regional Airport, 1500 County Road 220. Questions may be directed to Bruce Schrader, board president, at 419-547-0131.
Downtown Fremont to host market, car show
FREMONT- Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting its first Farmers Market and the first car show of the season on Saturday, June 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Farmers and vendors will be selling produce and other unique items. Attendance at the Farmers Market and registration for the car show are free and the events will be held rain or shine.
Check-in for the car show participants will be on the day of the event at the intersection of Front and Birchard. Dash plaques and goodie bags will be given to the first 150 participants and there will also be a 50/50 raffle plus door prizes and sponsored trophies. Gibsonburg to hold Homecoming Festival
GIBSONBURG - The 2023 Homecoming Festival will take place in Gibsonburg from June 21 to 24. For a complete list of activities and events associated with Homecoming, visit the Gibsonburg, Ohio, Facebook page. The festival will end with fireworks at 10 p.m. June 24 in Williams Park.
Ag society to hold annual chicken barbecue
FREMONT - The Annual Sandusky County Agricultural Society's Chicken Barbecue will be held at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds, 901 Rawson Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 18. The public event will be in the Flower Building.
Half chicken and two sides with chicken prepared by Clyde FFA will be sold. Advance tickets are available by contacting any fairboard director or the board office 712 North St.
