Downtown Fremont to host Block Party

FREMONT - Downtown Fremont Inc. will be hosting the Croghan Colonial Bank Farmers Market and The Garrison Restaurant Downtown Block Party Event from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 3. The event will be on Front Street inDowntown Fremont from Croghan Street to the alley at the Fremont Municipal Building. Attendance to the farmers market will be free.

The Garrison Restaurant will be hosting an evening Hog Roast on the street of Garrison Street. The hog roast will consist of meats and sides to bring a Block Party feel while enjoying the sunset farmers market of over 70 vendors. Music will be provided by Abby Ray Music plus there will be Community Street Activity Games on Front Street for the whole family.

Ventriloquist David Crone to perform Oct. 1

CLYDE - Communities for the Arts is hosting its first show since the start of COVID-19. Comedy Ventriloquist David Crone will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Clyde High School Auditorium.

This show is free, and seating is general admission. Those attending must secure a ticket before the show to enter. Tickets are available at the Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education in Clyde, the Green Springs and Clyde Public libraries and Copper Top in Bellevue. All Communities for the Arts board members also have tickets to distribute.

Elmore to host Fireworks and Festival on Sept. 4

ELMORE - The Village of Elmore will host Fireworks and a Festival from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 4. There will be live music, inflatables, a petting zoo, pony rides and a street magician.

All entertainment is free and family friendly. There will also be an outdoor refreshment area and artisans. Food trucks will include Deet's BBQ, Juanito's Tacos, Kona Ice, NeNe's Sweet Treats and Quinn's Concessions.

Fireworks will launch from Well Park at dusk. Parking and seating will be available at Woodmore High School.

Catawba Island Township Trustees announce special meeting

CATAWBA ISLAND TOWNSHIP - The Catawba Island Township Trustees will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m. Aug. 29 to review the new Port Clinton EMS contract and address any concerns. The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Administration Building, 4822 East Cemetery Road, and is open to the public.

Gibsonburg to host 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony

GIBSONBURG - The Village of Gibsonburg is extending an invitation to the public to attend the Remembrance Ceremony at noon Sept. 11 in Williams Park at The Public Safety Service Memorial.

The Memorial stands to honor and remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001 and pay tribute to the Public Safety Service Personnel who sacrifice on a daily basis for their communities.
