Best decorated homes in Fremont named

FREMONT — The Fremont Halloween and Fall Lawn Judging is completed and winners have been named by the Fremont Tree and Beautification Commission.

Halloween decorating winners are: First, 1114 Hamlin St.; second, 1009 Hayes Ave.; and third, 813 Linden Blvd.

Fall decorating winners are: First, 1737 North St.; second, 1018 Hayes Ave.; third, 1511 Birchard Ave. and 428 St. Joseph St.

Other homes the committee lists as worth viewing: 503 Oaklawn, 413 St. Joseph, 435 St. Joseph, 122 N. Collinwood, 713 Gibson Court, 732 Pine St., 307 Morrison, 1350 Buckland Ave., 2311 Buckland Ave., 2300 Buckland Ave., 1081 McKinley St., 1215 Birchard Ave. ,1217 Birchard Ave., 2828 Port Clinton Road, and 1813 McPherson Blvd.

Clyde committee lists its top three scary Halloween homes

CLYDE — The Clyde Career Women judged homes decorated for Halloween in the Clyde-Green Springs Exempted Village School District on Oct. 24 for the Clyde Halloween Committee.

First place went to 103 Ken Lee Drive, Green Springs, to Chris and Shelia Pitter for their Haunted Graveyard. Second place went to 508 S. Main St., Clyde, to Laurie Rogers for Climbing to the Top, and third place went to 424 Race St., for Dead and Breakfast, owners Don Laconis and Bonnie Curless. Fremont Pride presents 'Rocky Horror' dinner show

CLYDE — Fremont Pride will host its second annual drag revue of the club classic musical comedy, "Rocky Horror Picture Show" at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. The evening will include a mix of lip-snyc, live singing and other performances.

The event will be at the at the Alley, 117 W. Buckeye St., Clyde. Dinner will be at 7 p.m. followed by the show. Tickets are $40 in advance or $45 at the door. Seating is limited. Tickets include drink tickets, and a taco bar. There will also be a silent action and raffle. All proceeds benefit Fremont Pride.

Clyde Planning Commission calls special meeting to discuss rezoning request

CLYDE — The Clyde Planning Commission is calling a special meeting for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, for a public hearing on Great Lakes Demolition Co. LLC, to rezone 9.71 acres at 1170 N. Main St. (Ohio 510) from R-3 Multi Family Residential to C-2 General Commercial. The commission will then vote on a motion to recommend, modify or disapprove the request to city council. The hearing will be held in the municipal building, 222 N. Main St., in the second floor-conference room.
