Fremont plans New Year's Eve event

Downtown Fremont Inc. will partner with the City of Fremont and businesses for the fourth annual Downtown Fremont New Year’s Eve Celebration.

Fire and Ice event will start at 8 p.m. on Front Street between Croghan Street and Birchard Avenue. There will be interactive activities on the street for all ages, along with music and food.

The interactive games will be 8 p.m.-midnight and include VR Google and Pods, Giant Pac Man Battle, Urban Hoops, and Giant Foosball Extreme, which can be played for an unlimited access when a $5 lanyard is purchased.

Interactive games will be under a tent, with lights and heating on the two blocks of Front Street. New Year's T-shirts and other fun accessories will be available for sale as well. The New Year's Eve Bar Craw, "DORA Freeze and Thaw," will be happening at DORA liquor establishments.

Marblehead board calls special meeting

MARBLEHEAD — The Village of Marblehead Board of Public Affairs will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Thursday, in the meeting room of the Village Service Building, 517 W. Main St. Purpose of the meeting is to meet with engineers from CT Consultants to review the design plans for the proposed new water tower.

Fremont Municipal Court closed for holidays

Fremont Municipal Court will be closed Fridays Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 due to the holidays. Arraignments will be held at 9 a.m. Dec. 27 and Jan. 3 for those who are incarcerated. Any filing that is required may be made the next succeeding day the court is open and considered timely.

Budget commission to meet Dec. 29

PORT CLINTON - The Ottawa County Budget Commission will meet at 10 a.m. Dec. 29 in Room 205 in the Ottawa County Courthouse.

Board of election to be closed for holidays

PORT CLINTON - The Ottawa County Board of Elections office will be closed Dec. 24, 27 and 31. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Park district to hold First Day Hike

The Sandusky County Park District will hold a First Day Hike, River Cliff Park, 1313 Tiffin St., Fremont, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Jan. 1. Join Deb Nofzinger for a hike at River Cliff Park to kick off the New Year. Registration is required at lovemyparks.com.
