Tree lighting set for 7 p.m. Friday

The Downtown Fremont Holiday Tree Lighting will be 7 p.m. Friday, a block south of East State Street in the Historic District. The public is welcome to the event which kicks off the community's holiday season. Santa will also be visiting downtown in his house Fridays and Saturdays through Dec. 17 and 18. His hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays starting Nov. 26 and 1 to 3 p.m. Saturdays, staring Nov. 27.

The Downtown Open House will be Dec. 3 and 4.

Hometown Holiday Parties in Elmore, Genoa libraries

ELMORE — The Harris-Elmore and Genoa Public libraries will host a Hometown Holiday Party with games, crafts, a scavenger hunt and holiday photos with Santa in December.

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 4, a party will be held at Harris-Elmore Library.

The next will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Dec. 11 at Genoa Branch Library. For more information call Harris-Elmore at 419-862-2482 or Genoa branch at 419-855-3380.

Trinity to hold 'Taste of Season' dinner before jazz concert

Trinity United Methodist Church, 204 N. Wayne St., Fremont, is taking reservations until Dec. 3 for the “Taste of the Season” dinner taking place at 5:45 p.m. Dec. 12 at the church.

Cost for the four-course dinner is $14. The dinner will precede the Annual Holiday Concert at 7 p.m., which will feature the Fremont Ross High School Jazz Band along with other seasonal musical talents. The concert is free and open to the public. A free-will offering will be received that will be donated. For dinner reservations, call Steve at 419-332-8167 by Dec. 3.

Orders are also being taken for cheeseballs through Dec. 5 with pick-up at the church from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 18 in the Fellowship Hall. The cost is $7 each for cheddar, dried beef, horseradish, onion and pineapple. Call 419-332-8167 by Dec. 5.

Santa to fly into to airport on Dec. 12

PORT CLINTON — Santa Claus will be flying into the Erie-Ottawa International Airport Authority on Dec. 12 to visit the Liberty Aviation Museum and Tin Goose Diner. He will be meeting with children from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Visitors are welcome to take their own photos. The event is free but there is a charge for those wishing to visit the museum. There will be no breakfast with Santa, just a fly-in.The museum is located at 3515 East State Road.
