Sandusky County health board to meet

FREMONT - The Sandusky County Board of Health will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday at 2000 Countryside Drive.

The board will receive an update on its levy campaign. The levy committee will meet in the office on Aug. 7. Bethany Brown will give an update on an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency hearing and an update on building renovations.

Women's Connection to meet Aug. 8

FREMONT - The Fremont Area Women’s Connection will holds a Ladies' Luncheon on Aug. 8 at Victor’s Event Center, 2270 Hayes Ave. All women are invited.

The theme is “Walking the tightrope…” and we are featuring the Sandusky County Drug Task Force with Dean Bliss.

Another speaker, Lynn Jordon of Valparaiso, Indiana, will share her story, “Living a Balanced Life in a Tilted World.”

The doors open at 10:30 a.m. for coffee and socializing. Lunch and program are 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Cost is $14.

YMCA to offer HERO benefits

FREMONT – In appreciation of their immense sacrifices, The YMCA of Sandusky County proudly announces new HERO benefits available to first responders, military members, veterans, and their families. These benefits include discounted memberships, participation in the YMCA Armed Services/Department of Defense Title 10 Membership program, reserved parking spaces for veterans, Our Military Kids grant program, and leave passes for military members home for a short time.

According to the U.S. Census, 6.4% of the current U.S. adult population, or 16.5 million Americans, are veterans. Closer to home, just over 3,500 veterans live in Sandusky County.

Trinity to host Party in the Park

FREMONT - Trinity United Methodist Church, will host a “Party in the Park” from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Conner Park, 2300 Morrison Road, in the Rusch Shelter House. The public is welcome. DJ “Johnny Jukebox” will be on hand all afternoon, balloon artist “Sillie Tillie” will be present creating balloon sculptures for the children, face painting will be available as well as several games. A batting cage will be available for children with prizes.

Also, “A Dive into God’s Word” booklet is available for children to take home while supplies last. Free food is also available. For more information, call the church office at 419-332-5032.
