Highway patrol holding open house

NEW PHILADELPHIA — The New Philadelphia Highway Patrol Post will host an open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 13.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet troopers and dispatchers, see speciality enforcement vehicles, including K-9, Special Response Team, Motorcycle Unit and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, as well as tour the facility,

In a prepared statement, the patrol said the open house provides a great chance for anyone interested in law enforcement to get first-hand insight into the job and start the application process. The event is open to the public. All are welcome to attend. The post is at 2454 E. High Ave., New Philadelphia.

Jury phone line may not work

NEW PHILADELPHIA — The jury service phone line for the General Trial Division of the Tuscarawas County Common Pleas Court may not be working properly this week.

Service groups I and J are finished and do not need to report or call in, according to Elizabeth Stephenson, court administrator.

Dennison mosquito spraying

DENNISON — The village has hired a private company to do mosquito fogging in the village. It will take place at 8 p.m. Sunday.
