Trilogy names Nanci Kosanka new Valley View executive director

FREMONT — Trilogy Health Services’ Valley View Health Campus announced its new executive director, Nanci Kosanka, MBA, LNHA. Kosanka said she is excited to join the Trilogy family and serve the community she calls home.

Kosanka is a native of Fremont, having graduated from Fremont Ross and Terra State Community College. She went on to complete her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tiffin University. Most recently, she served as an administrator in Perryburg and was recognized by her previous company as Northwest Ohio’s Most Employee-Focused Administrator.

She also has a special connection to the campus because of her own experience as a family member. Her father was a resident at Valley View and Kosanka said the team took excellent care of him.

Conservation district plans annual meeting, banquet

OAK HARBOR - The Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District will hold its 70th Annual Meeting and Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds.

Tickets are $10and patrons have a choice of barbecue chicken or beef brisket, baked potato, rolls, green beans and a variety of pies. Master of ceremonies will be Dave Grimm, son of the late Fred Grimm who was instrumental in establishing the Ottawa SWCD in 1952. Prior to dinner, take some time to look through the displays from over the past years.

Members may cast your ballot for our election of two supervisors between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m.   The “Cooperator of the Year” will also be awarded to an individual/business/agency that has shown outstanding support to local conservation efforts either past or present.

Black Swamp Conservancy to host series of concerts

PORT CLINTON - The Black Swamp Conservancy is hosting a new outdoor concert series at its Dr. Robert L. Nehls Memorial Nature Preserve, 4400 East Muggy Road, Catawba Island.The Sunday concerts begin at 2:30 p.m. and feature highly acclaimed regional musicians: Andrew Brown’s Djangophonique on Aug. 28; The Frenchtown Playboys on Sept. 11; and Warren and Flick on Oct. 2).Tickets are $20 per concert or $50 for all three. Children 10 years old and under are free with an adult ticket purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket/chair and cooler to enjoy live music and Lake Erie’s scenic West Harbor.
