Magruder to hold lunch and learn on Sept. 29

PORT CLINTON - Magruder Hospital will host a lunch and learn in the Conference Center at noon Sept. 29. Magruder’s Pain Management Physician Dr. Kindl will present a program on Chronic Pain: What it looks like and how to manage and treat it.

To make sure seats and food, make a reservation by Sept. 26 to rfall@magruderhospital.com or 419-732-4061. Lunch is $7 and can be paid when you arrive for the luncheon.  If you choose not to have lunch, the program is free.

Morning swim returned to Port Clinton High School

PORT CLINTON - Looking for a way to stay fit when all the outdoor pools are closed?  Swimming is a great workout and Port Clinton High School once again offers a morning swim for the community in the PCHS Natatorium.

Morning swim returned on Sept. 11 and is held from 6 to 7:15 a.m., Monday through Friday when school is in session. If school is delayed or cancelled there is no morning swim program. Passes are required for this program and must be purchased prior to swimming. The charges help to cover the cost of lifeguards: $120 for one semester; $230 for the year; or $40 per month (no matter how many school days in the month).  Passes are sold at the Port Clinton Board of Education Office, 811 S. Jefferson St. from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or call 419-732-2102 for more information.

Catawba Island zoning board seeks potential members

PORT CLINTON - The Catawba Island Township Trustees are seeking citizens of the township who are interested in serving as members/alternates on one of the two zoning boards. There is an opening for a position on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Members are appointed for a five-year term while an alternate member is appointed for a one-year term and substitute at a meeting when a regular member is absent or has a conflict of interest.

The Board of Zoning Appeals meets at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month and hears applications for appeals, variances and conditional uses.

To be considered for a board position your residence of record must be Catawba Island Township and an application for appointed positions is available at the Township Administration Building in the zoning office or by email to zoning@catawbaislandtownship.com.  Applications are to be returned to the zoning office.

Clyde meetings canceled due to city office renovations

CLYDE - The City of Clyde announced that several boards and commissions have their September meetings cancelled due to office renovations and the boards cannot meet in the city conference room.

Cancellations include the Tree and Landscape Commission, Clyde Fair Board, and Clyde Civil Service Commission.
