News Briefs: Nathaniel Massie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution sponsor Wreaths Across America

Nathaniel Massie Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution are proud to again sponsor Wreaths Across America for 2022. In 2021, 1,011 wreaths were laid on veterans’ graves in more than 20 cemeteries in Ross County and surrounding area. The majority of these were placed in Greenlawn Cemetery where more than 800 veterans are laid to rest. One of the missions of DAR is care of veterans and active military, with Wreaths Across America being one of the largest projects throughout the United States to honor our veterans. The chapter is seeking sponsorships for the 2022 Wreaths Across America program. Our goal is to recognize 1,200 Ross County veterans by laying wreaths on their graves this December. The cost of each wreath is $15, donations of any amount are accepted. You may sponsor wreaths to be placed by DAR Daughters or pick up wreaths to place personally on a veteran’s grave.

The wreath laying will take place at noon on Saturday, December 17th in Greenlawn at the veteran’s square. The public is invited to participate. If your group is interested in being part of the laying for a service project please contact Connie Meyer, below. To purchase or sponsor go to the website at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/OH0224P or by contacting Connie Meyer at 740-772-5878 or ppcsmey2@gmail.com.
