Peace Lutheran holding musical concert

PORT CLINTON - The public is invited to a free "Winter Wonderland" concert at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Peach Lutheran Church. There will be artists, instruments and music of all types and ages.

MS walk being planned for May at Conner Park

FREMONT - The third annual WalkMS-Fremont will be held at 11 a.m. May 13 at Conner Park, 2300 Morrison Road.  Participants are asked to meet at the rear shelter houses for registration beginning at 10:30 a.m. The walk will take place on the track.

Forced Blue D.J., The Bean and Things Food Truck, face painting, door prizes and more will be available. Sponsors include Katura Recovery, Sabroske Electric, Crown Battery, Phaze 1 ScreenPrinting and Graphics and Forced Blue Entertainment.

Magruder to hold Community Lab Screening

PORT CLINTON - Magruder’s next monthly community lab screening will be 8-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, at the Magruder Community Clinic, 730 Jefferson St.

The main lab test is for CBC, CMP and lipid profile, which includes liver and kidney function, fasting blood sugar, cholesterol, HDL/LDL, Triglycerides and a complete blood count (red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in the blood) for $50.

Magruder also offer add-ons that can be added to the testing or requested separately. The are:

  • Lipid profile, $20

  • Hemoglobin A1C, $20

  • PSA (prostate specific antigen), $30

  • TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone, $25

  • Vitamin D, $35

This screening is held the second Thursday each month. Appointments are required and can be made by calling 419-301-4304.  Participants are asked to fast for 12 hours before the appointment, but can have water.  No insurance accepted. Payment can be made by cash, check or credit card (no American Express).

Mental health board taking fund applications

TIFFIN - The Mental Health and Recovery Services Board is opening the process to apply for funds for Fiscal Year 2024 (July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024). This process is for agencies planning to provide behavioral health services.  The due date is 5 p.m. March 1.

Fremont school board calls special meeting

FREMONT - The Fremont City Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2 in the Superintendent's Conference Room, board office, 500 W. State St., Suite A.
