Port Clinton churches bring Bible story to life for Christmas

PORT CLINTON - All of Port Clinton and surrounding area is invited to join in a new Christmas Celebration called Journey’s End. Trinity United Methodist Church of Port Clinton in collaboration with Saint Thomas Episcopal Church and Saint John Lutheran Church, Truth Ministries Church, Port Clinton Bible Methodist Church, and Firelands Presbyterian Church (all of Port Clinton), announce this Christmas celebration for the city and northwest Ohio.

At 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, Journey’s End will seek to put parishioners into the Christmas Bible story and will take place in downtown Port Clinton. The event will start at Trinity UMC and travel by candlelight with Mary and Joseph (played by Emme Barth and Nathan Dukeshire, both students at Port Clinton Senior High School). Participants will travel to several churches and a local business singing the traditional carols accompanied by guitar. The group will finish back at Trinity UMC for cookies, cocoa and fellowship.

Contractor selected for Magee Marsh shoreline project

OAK HARBOR – Shoreline Contractors, Inc., an Ohio Marine Construction and Erosion Control firm, has been selected by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for the Magee Marsh Shoreline Protection Barrier Rehabilitation project.

The Magee Marsh Wildlife Area is composed of 2,202 acres of controlled hunting and wildlife protection area and is located 17 miles west of Port Clinton in Oak Harbor, Ohio. The large-scale erosion control and barrier rehabilitation project involves maintenance and rehabilitation of 6,817 linear feet of existing shoreline revetments and is set to begin in 2022 and will include installation of over 75,000 ton of Armor Stone.

Dance academy to present 'The Nutcracker'

FREMONT - Kassandra’s Dance Academy is presenting "The Nutcracker" on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16 and 17, at The Fremont Community Theater. Tickets are $13 each and can be purchased at kassandrasdanceacademy.com/events-1 or call 419-332-0550. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday.

Joyful Connections adds Little Free Pantry

OAK HARBOR – Thanks to a grant from the Portage Resale Center, Joyful Connections has added a Little Free Pantry at its location — 8200 W. Ohio 163. The pantry is located outside the main doors of the building and is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is stocked with non-perishable items and personal hygiene items.

Every Friday fresh baked goods donated by Panera Bread will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

BCS board to meet at Porky's Pizza Trof

OAK HARBOR - The Benton-Carroll-Salem School District Regular Board Meeting will be at 4:45 Wednesday at Porky's Pizza Trof, 4811 N. Ohio 2.
