Port Clinton High School seniors on parade May 18

PORT CLINTON — On their last day of school, Port Clinton High School seniors traditionally leave school honking their horns, cheering, and driving past the school. In 2020, a new tradition began and the PCHS Class of 2022 will leave school for the last time together and parade through the streets of Port Clinton starting at noon May 18. Port Clinton City Schools also invites community members to come out along the parade route and wish the seniors well as they drive by.

The parade will start at Port Clinton High School and then follow this route: East on 10th, north on Fulton, west on Sixth, north on Lay Drive, east on Fremont Road, north on Harrison, east on Perry, south on Jefferson, east on Second, north on Maple, west on Perry, over the drawbridge to end at Port Clinton Yacht Club. A visual map of the parade route can be found at www.pccsd.net under the “News” section.

Community Cleanup Day set in Oak Harbor

OAK HARBOR — The Oak Harbor Development Group's Annual Community Cleanup Day will take place 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday , providing an opportunity to get the community looking its best for Spring. Volunteers will meet at the back of the Community Markets parking lot, that morning, to pick up trash and debris from around town.

“This is just one way we can make sure our community is in condition to support our small businesses and that downtown is a great environment for our families,” said Bill Eberle, an Oak Harbor Village Council Member and longtime organizer of the annual cleanup. “Many hands make light work,” added Eberle.

On the day of the event, service clubs, youth groups, church groups, families and individual volunteers are encouraged to join the effort. Gloves and trash bags will be provided.
