Pride events slated at Put-in-Bay

PUT-IN-BAY - On Monday, June 12, Put-in-Bay will have its first Pride Day celebrating love and unity where everyone is welcome.

The festivities will kick off at 10 a.m. with a fun-filled color run, then make a splash at the Sand Bar Pool Party from noon to 3 p.m. A dazzling parade at 8 p.m. will feature antique cars and drag queens. There will be a drag show at the Round House Bar at 9 p.m.

Housing authority to meet

FREMONT — The next bi-monthly meeting of the Sandusky Metropolitan Housing Authority will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the Sandusky MHA Office, 1358 Mosser Drive.

Ottawa County Bluegrass Band to perform

PORT CLINTON — The Ottawa County Bluegrass Band will perform at Riverfront Live at 6 p.m. June 16 in downtown.

The Ottawa County Bluegrass Band has been playing together since the late '90s. The band features brothers Dennis and Joe Mitchell. Until his passing last year, their father, Joe Mitchell Sr. of Port Clinton, performed with the band. Currently,  the band members are Joe and Dennis Mitchell, Danny Bryant from Fostoria and family friend Vern Brink from Gibsonburg.

Magruder VIP group plans Hawaii trip

PORT CLINTON — At 3 p.m. Thursday, June 15, there will be an informational meeting in the Magruder Conference Center about the VIP-on-the-Go Collete trip to Hawaii scheduled for Feb. 29 through March 9. People can make a reservation for this meeting with Mary Ann at 419-656-3947 or Kathy at kgallogly@magruderhospital.com. Like all Magruder VIP trips, it is not limited to VIP members — family, friends, and the general public may participate in the trips.

Jim Sleek and House Band to perform Sunday

FREMONT — The Mayor's Concerts in the Park at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 11, will feature Jim Sleek & The House Band in Birchard Park. The concert is free. Every Sunday in June and till July 16 there will be a 7 p.m. Sunday concert. Ottawa County Veterans Services plans benefit briefing

OAK HARBOR — Oak Harbor area veterans can attend a Veterans Administration benefit briefing with a focus on VA Pension. An Ottawa County Veterans Service officer will be on hand to review this benefit and answer any questions.

Due to limited space, this event is only for veterans. The briefing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at the Oak Harbor Public Library. A light snack will be available. Additional briefings will be offered throughout the county each month. To reserve a spot, call the Ottawa County Veterans Service Office, 419-898-2089.
